Let me ask you this: Is your blog getting noticed? Are you writing and posting content that your audience is asking for and therefore driving traffic to your website or, do you find yourself writing, writing, writing only to cross your fingers and hope that your blog will somehow, miraculously, get found?
If you’re more like “well, ummm, yeah I mean it seems like people are seeing what I’m putting out there…I think?”, let’s change that asap. You are already putting in the time and effort, let’s make sure your work is getting found and seen by your audience.
I’m going to show you two websites that will help your blog get noticed and start driving more traffic and views to your website.
Why is it so important for your blog to get noticed?
Because more traffic to your blog means more views and that means the potential for more money. Your blog's focus should never be about the money but it is an added bonus when you can start generating any sort of income through blogging.
I see too many people out there writing just to make sure something gets posted. It’s like they get so caught up in creating and posting content that they aren’t noticing if it’s the right content to be creating. It’s the age-old: Quality vs. Quantity. You can write fewer blogs and make more money because you know exactly what your audience wants to see.
Here's the key: You need to speak DIRECTLY to your audience.
Blogging isn’t about you, it’s about your audience. Sure, it’s about your experiences, your stories, your journey, and your advice, but that’s just what keeps people coming back for more.
If people aren't searching for your domain name directly, how will they find your blog/website? You need to make sure that when people search for your niche, they’re finding YOU. (Still struggling to find your blog niche? I wrote a blog about it.)
When people are searching for new recipes, how to start gardening, how to learn to play guitar, or how to carve a spoon out of wood, they should be finding YOU.
So how do you do that? How do you make sure your blog is being found?
Here's how you do it: You answer your audience’s questions.
Too often, new bloggers dive head first, sharing all about their niche topic without taking a step back to think about their audience. You might have the secret to the best homemade pizza in the land but is a post about the top 5 pizza recipes really what your audience is searching for?
No. But maybe what they are searching for is how to make homemade crust. Or how to make a vegan pizza. Or how to make kid-friendly pizza. Or the best pizza with just 5 ingredients. Or how to make a pizza, start to finish, in under 30 minutes.
Stop writing just to write my friend. THINK about what you’re writing but more importantly ANSWER THE DANG QUESTIONS of the people you’re writing to.
So how do you know what questions your audience is asking? Here are two websites and you can use to make sure your blogs get noticed.
Answer the Public
Here’s a website I like to use called Answer the Pubic. I was shown this website by my friend Ryan who used it in a small business he worked for.
Answer the Public acts the same as Google’s autocomplete, where it tries to predict what you’re going to ask based on searches from people all over the world. Here’s a great article summarizing what Answer the Public does. Below is an example of Google's autocomplete.

So how can you use Answer the Public to help your blog get noticed?
You get to see EXACTLY what your audience is searching for and then answer their questions!
When you type in a keyword, Answer the Public shows you 5 different categories, each with their own subcategories ranking the different ways people have searched for your keyword. Another great feature of Answer the Public is it allows you to save your searches as images so you can keep a visual of your keyword.
The 5 categories are:
Questions
Prepositions
Comparisons
Alphabeticals
Related
I typed in pillows as my example keyword because I wanted to show you the many, complex ways people are searching for even the simplest thing! Here is a screen shot of the subcategories and their results.
It then shows a visual of each category with its subcategories and most common searches related to that subcategory.
Finally, you can choose the data version of your keyword and see it in list form.
And then like I mentioned above, you can make that data an image and use it as a resource when you're creating your blogs.
The information provided on Answer the Public isn’t just helpful, IT'S WHAT YOU SHOULD BE WRITING ABOUT! It is literally showing you the different things your audience is searching and the different ways they are wording their searches on you topic.
Don't just assume you know what your audience wants to hear, GIVE them what they're looking for!
Ubersuggest
The other website I want to talk about is the SEO and digital marketing guru Neil Patel’s Ubersuggest. In this program, you type in your keyword and it shows you search volume, SERP (Search Engine Results Page aka analyzing the top web pages for your keyword) analysis, Cost per Click, SEO Difficulty, Keyword Ideas, and similar posts and their hit rate.
You can use Ubersuggest to improve your SEO and make any changes that might need to be made to get your blog seen by more people and more traffic to your website.
For example, I typed in "How to get your blog found" into Ubersuggest. Here are the results.
As you can see, there are just 10 searches for the month on this topic. That's not very good. But when I scroll down and look at Keyword Ideas. You can see "how to get your blog traffic" and "how to get your blog noticed" both had higher search volumes.
Based on this search, I chose How to get Your Blog Noticed: Gain More Traffic and Views as my title because of the number of searches associated with these two titles. You can see how I applied this very website to my own blog.
Finally, Ubersuggest provides a SERP Analysis and analyzes the top websites that rank for these keywords. The links are clickable and take you to the articles. This is incredibly useful to see HOW other, successful bloggers are writing and what formats they use.
BONUS!
Ask.
Ask your audience what they want to hear more about. Ask them what they’re interested in, what confuses them, what they don’t understand. Tell them you are creating more content and ask them what they'd like you to share with them. You can ask via social media, through your email list, or in person with friends and family.
This will not only give you a direction and show you what you should be writing about, but it will also engage your audience and help them feel heard. You'll be answering their questions directly and creating trusting relationships so they keep coming back to you as the expert.
I hope you see how invaluable these two websites can be to your blog and driving people to your website. By speaking DIRECTLY to your audience and answering THEIR questions, your blog is more likely to be noticed. Take the guessing out of it and start blogging with more impact. Start getting seen, start driving traffic, and start making money.
